  1. I really appreciate this kind of work, and this piece in particular, Doug, even though I think that most of your Whimsical belongs in the Legendary line. Yoink! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I've done a lot less work on Holmes than you have, but I did some poking around in the recent past, and my post on Alignment has a table with all the Holmes creatures by alignment which might be of some interest. I'll include the address below in case you haven't seen them.

  3. Thanks. I guess the medusa, cockatrice etc. would also be legendary but then I wouldn't have had any room for the more crucial "whimsical" and "a wizard was bored" categories. Hippogriffs are not legendary. They are an invention of Ariosto in "Orlando furioso".

  4. Good work. The groups are fine; I appreciate arbitrary taxonomies.

  5. Nice!

A few beasties seem to have gone missing - displacer beast, werebear, vampire, black pudding, djinni, rust monster, purple worm, shrieker. Some of these are high HD creatures - should there be more lines going up? Also, Shadows are specified as not being undead in Holmes.

  6. Dang, you're right, I missed all the creatures you mentioned! D'oh!
Hey, I wonder why the purple worm was included in the monsters section at all. C'mon, a 15-hit dice monster?

  7. PS. Dang that is weird about shadows not being undead. I don't think I ever picked up on that!

  8. Hello,

I recently chanced upon your Hex Maps on drivethrurpg.com.

I would be interested in a world map with your particular art style for my home-game Fantasy World.

Do you take commissions and how much would that cost in that case?
