I love this. I am working on game player type theories too, and I will absolutely reference this.
I can see myself as different ones of these depending on the game and setting. Six out of the eight, in fact. (I guess I am a D-Gamer when I am playing competitive poker, the few times I do that.)
This chart should make distinctions between multiplayer and campaign modes. It's a fair assumption for online multiplayer combat games, like Halo and COD, but not for single player adventure games like Skyrim and Dragon Age.

ReplyDeleteI only had traditional pen-and-paper-and dice RPGs in mind, like Dungeons & Dragons, Hackmaster, and Swords & Hordes.
